Hey Summer Readers–your time is almost up!  Make sure to turn your reading records in at the circulation desk by Tuesday, August 12th so you can be considered for the Top Reader prizes!

 

Also, make sure to join us for the Summer Reading Wrap Up/Ice Cream Social on Thursday, August 14th at 2:00 PM.  Prizes will be awarded and raffle tickets will be drawn.  Please call the library (674-5050) to let us know if you’re coming to the Ice Cream Social so we know how much ice cream we need!

Tuesday, August 5th, 5:30-7:00 PM–BEST Summer Reading Support. Help will be available from the BEST teachers for Algonquin Middle School students working on their summer reading projects.

 

Wednesday, August 6th, 2:00-3:00 PM–Kitchen Science: Cook up some experiments using basic kitchen ingredients.  Ages 6+

Join us Tuesday, July 29th at 2:00 PM for “Magical Medieval Machines”  The kids will learn all about physics while making their own catapult.  Please call the library at 674-5050 to register.  Ages 6+

Looking for something to do with the kids this afternoon?  Stop in the library today (July 9th) at 2:00 to see a Traveling Pond.  Educators from Dyken Pond Environmental Education Center will be here with their pond full of fish, frogs, salamanders and insects. The kids will be able to touch these creatures and learn how they survive in their environment.  The program will be one hour long.

 

Tonight, we will be having a Middle School book club.  Do you have a middle schooler who loves to read?  Bring them to the library tonight to discuss their favorite books and learn about other books they may like.  The club will be led by recent college grad Lindsey Bush.  From 6:30 to 7:30 in our program room.
