Story Time – 

Miss MaryMargaret is enjoying a well deserved break!  Story Time will return on Thursday, September 22 at 11:30 AM (note the new time!)

 

B.E.S.T.

BEST (Bringing Educators and Students Together)  BEST is a FREE tutoring program for students in grades 3-10.  Stop in anytime between 4:30-7:30 pm to get help with homework, organization, research…whatever the students need!  BEST has ended for the 2015-2016 school year, but they will be back and ready to help in the Fall of 2016!

 

Book Group  on Wednesdays

The Sand Lake Town Library Book Group meets at 7 pm on the first Wednesday of each month, except July and December, in the William Kennedy Program Room. Reading lists are available at the Library.

Library Board of Trustees Meetings –

The Board of Trustees meets regularly on the third Thursday of the month at 6:45pm. The public is welcome to attend.

 

Museum Passes**

We offer passes to Sand Lake Town Library card holders for the following area museums:

 

The Clark Institute, Williamstown, MA.  Pass admits one adult PER DAY.  We have one pass.
Massachusetts Museum of Contemporary Art (MASS MoCA), North Adams, MA.  Pass admits up to 2 adults and 2 children (under 16).  We have one pass.
Museum of Innovation and Science (miSci), Schenectady, NY.  Pass admits two adults and two youths to museum and planetarium.  We have two passes.
USS Slater, Albany, NY.  Pass admits up to 2 adults and 2 children on tours during regular hours only.
**Museum passes are available to Sand Lake Town Library patrons. Passes can be checked out for 3 days and are available on a first come-first serve basis.  The passes must be returned to the Circulation Desk at Sand Lake Town Library.
 

Town Historian-

Bob Moore, the Sand Lake Town Historian, has an office here in the Library.  His office hours are on Wednesday and Thursday from 11 AM to 3 PM or by appointment.  He can be reached at 674-2026 ext 20.

 

Displays –

Check out the on-going displays of art work in the William Kennedy Program Room. Every two months we will feature a different local artist.  Please contact the Library if you are a local artist interested in having an exhibit here.

 

Summer reading –

Check out the New York State Summer Reading website for games, reading lists and more.
The theme for 2016 was On Your Mark, Get Set…Read!  Our annual Library Fair and Summer Reading kick off celebration will take place Saturday, June 25, 2016 from 11 AM to 2 PM.  The Library Fair includes a bounce house, games, facepainting, storytelling and Uncharted Wild’s Live Reptiles!
