Story Time – 

Join us every Thursday at 11:30 AM for pre-school story time with Miss MaryMargaret. Children will enjoy stories, songs and a simple craft.  No registration needed.  **Story Time is taking a short break but will return on Thursday, September 21st at 11:30 AM**

 

B.E.S.T.

BEST (Bringing Educators and Students Together)  BEST is a FREE tutoring program for students in grades 3-10 held here at the Library on Tuesdays.  Stop in anytime between 4:30-7:00 pm to get help with homework, organization, research…whatever the students need!  BEST is on summer break but will return in the Fall of 2017.

 

Book Group  on Wednesdays

The Sand Lake Town Library Book Group meets at 7 pm on the first Wednesday of each month, except July and December, in the William Kennedy Program Room. Reading list is pictured below or available at the Library.

 

Library Board of Trustees Meetings –

The Board of Trustees meets regularly on the third Thursday of the month at 6:45pm. The public is welcome to attend.

 

Museum Passes**

We offer passes to Sand Lake Town Library card holders for the following area museums:

 

The Clark Institute, Williamstown, MA.  Pass admits one adult PER DAY.  We have one pass.
Massachusetts Museum of Contemporary Art (MASS MoCA), North Adams, MA.  Pass admits up to 2 adults and 2 children (under 16).  We have one pass.
USS Slater, Albany, NY.  Pass admits two adults and two children to tour the ship.  We have one pass.
Museum of Innovation and Science (miSci), Schenectady, NY.  Pass admits two adults and two youths to museum and planetarium.  We have two passes.
**Museum passes are available to Sand Lake Town Library patrons. Passes can be checked out for 3 days and are available on a first come-first serve basis.  The passes must be returned to the Circulation Desk at Sand Lake Town Library.
 

Town Historian-

Bob Moore, the Sand Lake Town Historian, has an office here in the Library.  His office hours are by appointment.  He can be reached at 674-2026 ext 20 to set one up.

 

Displays –

Check out the on-going displays of art work in the William Kennedy Program Room. Every two months we will feature a different local artist.  Please contact the Library if you are a local artist interested in having an exhibit here.

SLTL’s Annual Summer Library Fair will be held Saturday, June 24, 2017 from 11 AM to 2 PM. Join us to sign up for the NYS Summer Reading program, enjoy games, a bounce house, face painting and more!
